ROSEBURG: A Roseburg man crashed him moped Wednesday night, then fled the hospital where he was being treated for minor injuries and gave police chase through the streets.
Michael Burns, 31, crashed his moped around 5:30 p.m. on Neuner Drive and Northeast Stephens Street and was transported to the hospital by ambulance. Officers responded to Mercy Medical Center because Burns was reportedly intoxicated there, according to a Roseburg Police Department spokesman.
Burns then ran from the X-ray room and officers gave chase. He didn’t make it far, as a resident on the 2500 block of Stewart Parkway tackled Burns and officers arrested him.
Burns is lodged at the Douglas County Jail on charges of driving under the influence of intoxicants, resisting arrest, interfering with a police officer, harassment and disorderly conduct.
