An intoxicated driver is being blamed for an accident involving a moped on Greenville Road Monday evening, one mile north of Hopkinsville city limits.

According to the Christian County Sheriff's Department, Juan Martinez, 24, of Butler Road, was driving a Pontiac behind the moped and failed to stop when its driver tried to turn left. Martinez reportedly struck the moped, forcing it off the road where it overturned. Martinez was taken to Jennie Stuart Medical Center, found to be intoxicated, and was arrested.

The moped driver, Brandon Hughes, 16, of the 2000 block of Greenville Road, was cited for not being a licensed driver. No injuries were listed.
