Moped rider arrested after south-side chase ... 315676.htm

City police arrested a man who they say ran a red light on a moped and fled from officers Monday.

Keven T. Hicks, 36, of the 3800 block of Brentwood Avenue, faces charges of resisting law enforcement in a vehicle and marijuana possession.

Police said Hicks ran the red light at Rudisill Boulevard and Indiana Avenue about 12:40 a.m. Monday along with another man on a moped. The second moped stopped at Indiana and Dayton, but Hicks took off, a police report said.

Officer Justin Holmes spotted the moped later at Broadway and Kinnaird and tried to stop Hicks. But Hicks fled again, the report said.

At one point during the chase, Hicks allegedly threw a baggie holding marijuana, the police said.

Police caught Hicks in a wooded area near the 2500 block of Thompson Avenue, the report said.
