A Makakilo man has been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence in a negligent-injury accident investigation that involved critical injuries to a man driving a stolen moped.

According to police, the injured man, 40, was driving a moped that slammed into a 1997 Dodge Ram truck attempting to switch lanes on Olomea Street, 147 feet east of 'Iao Lane in Kalihi at 2:12 p.m. Saturday. The man is at The Queen's Medical Center.

A woman passenger on the moped, 44, was treated at Queen's and released.
