A slow-speed moped pursuit resulted in the arrest of a 24-year-old Woodland man.
As many as 13 patrol officers were involved in the Friday pursuit, three who actually went after the suspect and 10 who cut-off his escape routes.

The "chase," occurred in the blocks near East Oak Avenue and Thomas Street, according to Sgt. Heath Parsons.

The driver, identified as 24-year-old Robert Maas, jumped off the 1985 Yamaha motorcycle several minutes after being pursued and fled the scene on foot, heading southbound on Thomas Street.

Parsons reported that three officers chased the suspect on foot and after a short run, Maas was apprehended in the 600 block of Thomas Street.

Maas was charged with evading a police officer, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting arrest. He was booked into the Yolo County jail.

The incident started when police tried to stop the suspect on what was otherwise a routine traffic enforcement violation. Maas allegedly was not wearing a helmet and was driving on the wrong side of the road as well as on sidewalks near Barbara Way and East Gum Avenue.
