Teens Charged In Deadly Rowan County Moped Crash

SALISBURY, N.C. -- Detectives in Rowan County say six teenagers saw a moped crash and knew the driver was seriously hurt, but did nothing to help.
According to authorities, the teens were all in a car that caused Michael Brown to crash his moped in May 2006. The teens, who are now in college, were students at East Rowan High School.
They are accused of leaving the scene of the crash.
Alston Vanderforth, Brandon Lowery, Rachel Miller, Patsy Morgan and Derek Talbert are charged with passenger fleeing an accident with injury/ death and involuntary manslaughter.
The driver, 19-year-old Eric Taylor, is charged with felony hit and run and involuntary manslaughter because investigators say he caused the crash that killed Brown.
