Well i can help you out alot on the speed problem, alot can be done with these with little or no cost to you. I'll put you some info together to get this thing up to speed. I've learned from bryan aka mountain moped and a ton of research i've done on line.

the problem i've learned in the past, when i was first looking for a gator 50r before i talked with bryan is the gator is listed under 100's of different names but all use the same engine which can easily be tuned.

the gy6 is easy to work on, i'll post a good write up for you in a couple of days.
