2 stroke oil question

Postby old school » Tue Jan 20, 2009 6:55 am

i have a 100cc daelim 2 stroke scooter that has automatic oil injection

there are no scooter shops where i am right now (only auto supply house)

they guy behind the counter gave me a bottle of Havoline 2 stroke oil and assured me it would be a quality 2 stroke oil

i am sure there is better stuff out there but is this stuff OK for a couple months?

Needs to be 2 stroke injector oil or you will plug up your injector system. Walmart or any reputable motorcycle/scooter shop will have oil for you. If it is just regular 2 stroke oil it is probably used for pre-mix applications. Get the right stuff.

Yes... It should say somewhere on the bottle "Injection or Pre-Mix."

I've had no problems in moped with Pennzoil 2 cycle marine (synth/semi synth) bought in the Gallon.

that pennzoil marine the blue stuff that is excellant stuff.

but besides that stop by your local motorcross or motorcycle dealer and pick up some amsoil or bel-ray all excellant stuff <~~~ haven't run either in the scooter, but have used both for years in our 2-stroke quads and dirtbikes.

but the bel-ray is great injector oil. I have only pre-mixed the amsoil.

i hate the term injector oil as the oil pump is under no psi, the correct term is synthetic 2 stroke oil.
