ScooterLar???

Postby mopedlar » Wed Apr 08, 2009 2:40 pm

I couldn't help myself yesterday. I sold one of my Sebrings and bought this one elderly owner, 1994 Honda Elite 80. She is like new with 1,400 miles on the ticker. I now own 4 scoots. Sickening, I know ;-)

P.S. I haven't mustered the nerve to tell Kim yet about this latest acquisition. It'll have to stay under the sheets for a couple of weeks, and then I'll say "what that old thing?, I've had that bike forever".

Well, since I got Kim an Aero 80, I figured I should also have an 80cc scoot so she doesn't feel left behind when I ride my Elite 250 or Burgman. Yeah, that's the ticket!

They still make those, I've seen them at the Honda dealer. They are made in Mexico. Going back a few generations, the Cub C100, is a lively little bike.

Kim and I are absolutely loving our "new" (1984 and 1994) 80cc Honda scooters. We spent the better part of yesterday cruising the area on our new scoots. When we got home, I jumped on my Cimatti City Bike moped, and it felt like I was going backwards.

I still love my peds, but these small 80cc scoots seem to capture the best of both worlds, especially my 2 stroke Honda Aero.

I bought another Honda Elite 80 (CH80) today. This one is a white, 1986 model. After riding scooters for the last several weeks, it's getting harder and harder to get back on a moped.

If your experience is anything like mine, you'll ride nothing but the scooter for a while, then you'll think, "Well, I should get the moped out and ride it a bit, just to keep it limber." And you'll start it up, go for a ride, and think to yourself, "The scooter may be more comfy, but this moped is A LOT more fun!"

Which is why, of course, you need to have both!

Our electric scooters are among the lightest available at less than 20kg total weight; with strong, corrosion-resistant all aluminium alloy frames and high performance ultra-light batteries.

With the battery easily removed the overall weight is reduced to just 18kg, making them even easier to transport on most types of car cycle racks. As with any bicycle always check compatibility with your chosen type and make of cycle rack.

Larry, how many miles are the Honda Elite 80 motors good for? I was thinking of getting one. Thanks, Jeff
