SYM Cub

Postby erie guy » Sat Jun 20, 2009 6:09 pm

Here is a link to the Pride of Cleveland Scooters website. This page descibes a scooter company named SYM, a new line of scooters that POC sells. They are taking advance deposits for a Honda "Cub" clone, that they expect to be a hot seller.
The SYM company claims connections to Kymco, Bombardier, Hyundai, and Kinetic of India. If this is the case, then the quality of the new scoot should be better than most, from the Asian market.

This is also the know as a Symba. They have been making this bike for Honda for decades. I wouldn't be afraid to buy those as it is Taiwanese manufacture. SYM is a recognized manufacturer of decent scooters and bikes. Saw a couple at the Indy show in February and build quality is there.

Sym is making the scooters for Tomos, is it not?

Yes, but not entirely interchangeble parts.

Tom Eaton is the S.E. rep. for Carter Brothers/SYM USA (Tom rode the Benelli sport bike on the first Dragon Ride). He also has one of the new Symbas. I prepped his new Sym 200 and 250 scoots Tuesday--they are awesome.

I'll try to get the Symba for a while this week and get some pics and see if we can make some radar runs.

The 250 is getting a lot of positive feedback. Like a baby Burgman.

I just got back from riding the Sym Symba. We were riding one that was displayed at the Indy show. We made numerous radar runs and the top speed observed on the radar was consistantly 52 mph. The Symba had only 30 miles on it and both riders weighed over 200 pounds. I would expect the speed to increase as it breaks in. The speedometer indicated 57 when the radar showed 52. Will post videos on YouTube.

Forget about the Symba, I have a REAL HONDA Super Cub for Sale in Knoxville TN!. This is the renown Honda Super Cub, and probably the only one this new available for purchase in the United States. (The Super Cub stopped being available in the U.S. in 1983). This is a 2007 90cc model in immaculate condition. The bike is practically brand new. You can pick this up for about half of what the Symba goes for and this is the REAL thing!
only 3 days left!

You did not list the VIN in the ebay format, perhaps that would be a clear indicator to the orgin of the bike. It is different in style to the last Honda Cub 90's made, that were replaced with the 100cc Biz.
