Good price for Eton Beamer III

Postby buckdog05 » Sun Jan 10, 2010 6:20 pm

I have a friend who is selling an Eton Beamer III that's about 3 years old with 6,700 miles on it.

He wants $800, but I'm seeing a lot of lower-priced mopeds on Craigslist and didn't want to get ripped off.

Do you think $800 is a good price? I know hardly anything about moped pricing.

Thanks!

I am no expert, but I would guess $400 is an average price for most good running mopeds, I am paying $650 for one with the owner's manual, Mechanics manual, and the sales brochure too. It has 383 original miles on it and has been started occasionally then had all the fluids drained for storage purposes. It looks great too.

$800 seems a bit steep, but if it is in great condition or the one you really want then it is up to you.

Thanks! The seller was trying to convince me that it was worth extra money because it was made in South Korea instead of China. Do you think that this makes a moped worth more?

its not a 20 year old moped, its a new modern scooter. is it worth 800 bucks? maybe.

that said, imho if you want to go that route i'd get something like a zuma so you can find parts for it.

The advantage here is that he or she is your friend and you know how they rode and maintained the bike, and what issues it may have. And maybee they will tell you how much it cost new. That would help in your decision. Also check ebay completed listings for the same bike.
