Moped Stalling

Postby Harland » Mon Jun 20, 2011 4:24 pm

So I just got me 92 Razz registered and insured today. Yesterday me and my Dad cleaned the carb (was gunked up) and replaced the spark plug, ran fine. Was out riding today and it stalled on me about three times. Any one know what could be wrong?

If your carb was "gunked up" it's possible your exhaust is too. If your air filter is clear and you're getting fuel, the exhaust has to go somewhere. Also check to see if you're getting good spark and if possible, give it a compression check. A cheap compression gauge is available at Harbor Freight Tools and a lot of auto parts houses.

Based on what you've said, it could be a lot of things. Was it warmed up completely when it stalled? Was it idling at the time or were you running under throttle? Does it fail to start immediately after stalling or do you have to let it cool down? A little more info could help to track down the problem.
I feel a whole lot more like I do right now than I did when I first got here.
