Speedfight 2 carb help

Postby Dazza12345789 » Thu Aug 04, 2011 2:56 pm

Hey,

Wonder if anyone can help me?

Basically, fitted a new sports exhaust on my Speedfight 2 2006 and have been told to make it work properly, have to install a new main jet. Apparently, on a speedfight, the carb is under the seat... Is that right? And also, any tips for remove the boot of the seat to see the engine, seems like mine is welded shut!

Also, do you know what main jet I would need? 5mm or 6mm? And also any recommendations on size? Or is it trial and error?

Thanks in advance

Who makes the "Speedfight?" Never heard of it. It's an odd name for a moped.

Lift the seat and look for bolts holding the bucket, as far as jetting, go up one number on the main and the same for the pilot jet only if its hard to start.
Some people dream about speed! blink and im gone!

as said, on most scooters remove seat bucket usually (4)10mm bolts.
depending on your elevation you may need more than one step up
on the jets. they go in 2.5 increments eg; 65, 67.5, 70 to 90 then
changes to 5 increments.

most likely its the bigger thread mikuni jet , but the idle
may be a TK jet and those are only OEM and not available after market.
you will have to remove the carb to replace the jets.

when your done and about to bolt the seat back on, go for a ride
and do a plug chop (check the color of your plug) for the deep chocolate
brown color. up jet if the color is light.
