Newbie and a little help :)

Postby Brett92 » Thu May 03, 2012 9:18 am

Hi all new to the forum, i know this may seem a stupid question to some but its something thats got me puzzled, im good with motorbike mechanics but mopeds can get a little confusing, ordered myself a new variator and rollers for my peugeot speedfight 100cc (i know its not anything fancy nor vintage) and am just wondering if im going to need to grease it or lube it or what? my old variator (think its the original) is completely shagged, was absolutely packed with crappy grease that had turned black from wear and the rollers are pretty much square, which is what led me to the new purchase.. but yeah, im just puzzled on what to do about lubrication, any help appreciated :)

Scooter, will move to that forum. Rollers are dry,no grease on them. Antiseize lightly the shaft on the clutch end of the cvt. Question is where is the crease coming from?

once the rollers have a flat spot on them they are shot.
belt dust and a little oil can look like grease but many
guys do grease their rollers but it is not really needed.
you might try some sliders , they are better instead of rollers.
