newbie moped chick here....
I want a moped...I know I want a 50cc, pedal kind. I like how they look and I am pretty sure I don't have to
have a motorcycle license or register a 50cc.
(I had a larger scooter in the past....was kinda pushed into getting one I didn't like and it was too big for me.
I want to say it was 200cc (?) but I couldn't 'steer' it too well for the circle part of the motorcycle test, so
I never got my license...but, all in all, lessons learned, etc. That scooter is long gone, but I still want a little
old school moped to just drive down to the local liquor and grocery stores to pick up a few items, etc)
so. my questions are:
1. I live in san diego CA, 50cc = no reg and no license ??
i see a few moped ads on my san diego craig's list... I don't know how to decide between the few types that
are close to me and in my price range...
2. is the range of $600 - $900 too cheap to get something that is decent?
3. the two I am between are a 1980 vespa grande @ $650 and a 2001 kinetic TFR for $599.
is it better to get the new model (2001)?
is it better to get one that has an ad where the current owner had replaced lots of stuff and worked on it...
(meaning to me I won't have to pay someone to do what they did...or learn how to do it myself right off the bat)
