We need Scooter Repair Manuals!!!

Postby Smitty » Fri Sep 16, 2005 6:44 pm

I know, and this is coming from a guy who works on them, LOL!!! But, even I am even having to just figure it out along the way as far as Scooter repairs. I may be able to get a couple of owners' manuals for a couple of the Chinese scooters, but that's all I can put my hands on as far as Scooter repair literature.. Anyone else have any Scooter Repair Manuals that we can host here on the MRA?

Smitty -
This site is not loading for me right now, but they do have Service Manuals for most/all of the Kymco Scooters.

http://www.kymco.it/contributi/download/MANUALI_OFFICINA/

Yeah, I know - It's a Chinese bike and the site sounds like it's in Italian, but they are in very good English, as opposed to 'Chinglish'.

If yew can crouch down on your donkey infront of your computing device and reed this yew problems will not have while doing engrish manual readings.

..............................................................................................
If you can sit on your ass in front of your computer and read this you won't have any problem with the english contained in moped manuals.

kymco is a tiawan scooter company, as is tgb(tiawan golden bee) they have a much higher quality product as well as customer support for parts/service. chinese stuff is usually throw-away. i saw a geely yesterday at a rally that was a piece of junk and it had like 20 miles on it,
well, it's a ruckus

Blue smoke is correct,Taiwan is not mainland China,Kymco is a leading manufacturer of scooters and has a very good reputation for build quality.Considered better than honda and yamaha by many including myself who has owned and ridden them all.Smitty I have a Yamaha Vino repair manual that I could send to someone to upload since I don't have either the time or inclination to do myself. The Vino uses a vertical minarelli which is used in many other bikes if anyone interested.....Willie
1976 Puch Maxi,1980Puch MagnumXK,2004 TomosTTLX and a couple of snails..

Yeah, actually I did know that, but Taiwan is officially the Republic of China and they mostly speak Mandarin, as do most of the people in Mainland China. I didn't want to start making distinctions here, but I know they are two separate entities.

Oh yeah, I also have a Kymco!

Some info-------

http://www.myvento.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=126

Keep in mind that even if the scooter plastics look
the same (like all the Vento clones) out there they are not the same.
These are public molds in China and the plastic companies sell these to
all the scooter assemblers so you will see 50 different scooters that
look like a Vento 150, but they are not. They might be a KDU, KDU-2, or
GY6b engine which uses different parts.

I have found the Vento, TGB, and Diamo dealers are the most
enthusiastic. I would like to think because the management / sales reps
at these companies are very enthusiastic about the product they are
selling and they are rising to their natural place in the market.

Every month I compare the number of dealers they are adding and it's
amazing. Scooter sales this summer have been the highest since I joined
the industry and those three brands have exploded.

Hi!, Smitty, I have a Geely manual on a CD that came with the 2004 Tank Urban 50 that I got recently. I got the scooter, Title, extra carb, and CD for the sum of 50 dollars. The scooter has a broken crankshaft, that I plan to replace soon. Don't, as yet, know what else it might need, it was running when the crank broke. If you can use the Geely manual, let me know and I will do some reading and find out how to send it via e-mail. The geeley discusses the gy6, 139QMB engines, 49.5cc. If you know how to send the contents of the CD via e-mail let me know the steps to take. DickW.
