Why did you get a 50cc 4-stroke scooter knowing that it would not meet your speed expectations? In most states, making displacement or higher speed modifications will make it a motorcycle.

Hey turtoise, modifying mopeds for more speed is fairly common. I think you can answer your own question if you get the stick out of your ass. What are you gona do call the cops on this guy? Dont be such a tool.

Edit: Sorry I dont know much about your ped, but I know you can change gearing, add displacement, add new exhaust, etc...

Hey, Shawn, All I know about your bike is the engine is a 4-stroke. Unlike a 2-stroke, your engine can run with a straight pipe. Before you buy a new exhaust, just disconnect the muffler, not the header pipe and give it a run. It will make quite a bit of noise but if you do not notice a performance improvement, a new exhaust won't help. Jim.

Hey Shawn, there is no way to know that without trying. Identical motors will never perform exactly the same. Another point, get yor ride in good running order with what you have before looking for additional speed/power. Jim.

What you have there is really a Scooter, not a Moped.

Read through this article for some general information:

You may want to read a bit here, and maybe ask your question:

There is also a Scooter Forum on this site.
