sachs crankshaft

Postby flipzflyers » Mon Aug 04, 2008 8:39 pm

I have a damage crankshaft where the flywheel slides over the shaft it has been damaged. The last owner had the flywheel welded to the shaft but this makes it hard to change points .Other then changing the shaft is there any good ideas how to make it work? I drilled and tapped the center of shaft but with right handed threads just to have something to help hold flywheel but I believe its going to give problems? Also can anyone explain why there is a extra hole machined into the head just beside the exhaust port on a sachs 505 1d
.The hole is in line with the decompression release but is located on opp side of the head. Thanks Phillip
