QT50 Yamahopper rusty fuel tank

Postby Kroozen » Fri Jun 10, 2011 10:58 pm

I have a 1979 QT50 Yamahopper that had sat for 7 years with very little fuel in it. The tank has a lot of rust in it. Any ideas on cleaning out gas tanks or products to seal it?

Soak the tank with vinegar for a few days and rinse out real well.

I used EVAP-ORUST on my 86 QT50
$22 At Pep Boys
Just drain tank of old fuel
Fill it UP FULL to overflowing and let it sit overnight (at least that;s what i did)
then emptry it and flush it out with water.
THEN
do it again with FRESH EVAP-ORUST.
rinse Again.

IT WILL BE SHINING!

then add CLEAR gas lines to carb and a new inline gas filter.

WORKED PERFECT FOR ME
