70 cc honda express

Postby yellowbeard » Sat Mar 17, 2012 11:49 pm

I changed out my top end from 50cc to 70 cc. Do I need to put a bigger jet in the carb., or will it do fine with stock carb.?

You will need to jet it up, get more air into the carb and put a better expansion chamber pipe on her. Or you will just bog down and get nothing out of the kit. Wiki on the moped army has info.

I searched about 15 pages over at Moped Army and hadn't come up with an answer on the jetting size I need. Any info would be helpful. Thanks Joe

Wiki.... tuning guide. You may need to sort through a lot of horse shit but there is info there!

Is there a 70 cc Honda you can reference? If there is you are going to want to run that spark plug also.

I just did a 50 to 60 cc on my Yamaha QT and took the jet from 70 to 80 and the new plug is more black than brown so I'm not too lean.

Once broke in I'll check and maybe lean it out if needed. Maybe a 75.

its pointless to try and read the plug til its broke in anyway. I read you are running dino oil at 50:1 for break in. that seems a little unwise to me to run it that thin, but these things are pretty tough to break.
