Help with identifying a moped

Postby alienhd55 » Sun Apr 01, 2012 8:43 am

Hello to the inmates of the MRA. I am in need of your expertise in identifying a Puch moped and how to find parts for it. The engine in the bike is a ZA50 and I am going to need a carb, manifold and left side engine cover that covers the flywheel and the points. In doing a little research I believe the bike is a Newport or Newport ii but have no idea what year it is. Is there a way to identify it by the serial #. The Puch sticker on the fuel tank has some fancy scroll work on it. Any and all help would be appreciated and you have my thanks in advance.

If the motor is a ZA50, it has to be a Newport II. The year of the bike is irrelevant because all years share the same body and mechanical parts.
