QT-50 to mod or not to mod

Postby rick73135 » Mon Oct 22, 2012 6:31 pm

I bought a mint condition 1980 QT-50 with less than 300 miles on it. It even has it's first safety inspection sticker, License plate, tires and so on. Only thing missing was the mirrors. By the looks of it, it has spent it's whole life taking up space in some one's garage.

I am planning to bring it back to life and mod the heck out of it. Then it dawned on me if this was a car it would be worth a lot more stock. Would that apply to my qt-50?

These are the mods I am planning to do:
1. Headlight
2. voltage regulator
3. tires
4 .60cc big bore kit
5. 60cc reed valve kit
6. sigma jet kit
7. K&N air filter
8. In line fuel filter
9. new gasket kit

Also planning to take the thing apart and clean out 30 year old grease and oil

Any advice on these mods will be great fully accepted

fix it up, ride it, enjoy it.

unless you want to store it in a climate controlled warehouse for the next 70 years when it may actually have some collectable value.
