Suzuki FA50 Will NOT Fire at All

Postby 345 desoto » Tue Jul 23, 2013 9:18 am

I'm putting together my FA50 engine, and it will not fire at all. The plug fires fine outside the engine, grounded to the block. The carburetor is immaculate...all passages blown clean after carb cleaner bath...idle set at 1 3/4 turns out. New plug, coil, PEI box, timing on the mark, kicks over fine, gas to the carb, muffler carbon cooked out, compression is 68lbs. It will not fire with the plug in...even with Starter Fluid sprayed into the carb or plug hole. I'm at my wit's end with this...HELP.

Need about 120 psi. will never light up with compression as low as you have. renew the top end. Typical 2 stroke condition. rings are probably stock in the grooves or broken.
