Is my oil sensor suppose to do this?

Postby Kodaman » Wed Feb 05, 2014 10:27 pm

i have an old Yamha QT50 and i was just poking around to see what i needed. and i lifted up on the seat to reveal the gas and oil to no sup rise. then i was looking at the oil sensor about an 1" - 2" straight back. i grabbed the lip of it and lifted and the whole sensor proceeded to come out!! Is it suppose to do this? If not what do i do?

Yes only held in by the rubber on the sensor. Should be a little hard to pull out but it's old. It is fine unless it leaks. If it does just don't fill the oil to the brim stop just below the bar in side the oil reserve or you could try something like rtv gasket maker.
