1974 Puch maxi three way light switch

Postby ybot1983 » Fri Feb 07, 2014 6:04 am

Im curious to know what the three positions on the light switch are on Puch maxi as the central position lights both head and rear whilst the top position lights just the headlamp brighter and the bottom lights just the rear brighter. Doesnt seem right.

My 79 Puch had a three-position light switch for just the headlight. My options were on-off-on. Eventually, I decided that was kind of dumb, and I rewired the headlight directly to the electrical and got rid of the switch.

I still don't know why it had a three-position switch, but I don't miss it.
Its not like turning off the headlight will save power for other stuff; each circuit has its own coil in the stator.

Could be either put on the left or right side of bars, depending on region bike was sold in. Not dumb at all, remember all the British bikes from days of yore were this way.
