NC50 MOPED WON'T ACCELERATE. HELP!

Postby Reezy » Tue Feb 23, 2016 7:25 am

Everything else works fine, it starts up perfectly but we can't get the thing to accelerate. The throttle system works and everything is operational but it has no effect on the acceleration. Automatic speed reaches about 10kph. We've taken apart the carburator and cleaned out everything, :?: can't think of anything else. We're desperate! Please help.

Never had one but wouldn't mind though. Does the engine rev out through its range? If so I would suspect the belt, roller weights and clutch needs attention. That is where I would look, also check for brake drag. Just thoughts.... Good luck.

Thanks for replying. No the engine doesn't rev up at all.

All things mentioned above and need to go back to the carb. Is the exhaust plugged with carbon?
