Tomos Spark Plug Gap

Postby Jimi » Mon Dec 08, 2003 4:07 am

Good Day All,

Anyone know what the spark plug gap
for the Tomos is?

* Owner's manual says: .5mm (.020 inches)

* workshop manual says: .8mm (.030 inches)

Thanks everyone,

Jimi

Spark plug gap is a range, .5mm to .8 mm is acceptable.

Pedman, KC Tike,

.......Thanks for the replys.

When I picked up my new Tomos Sprint, and test rode it at
the dealer, the engine would sputter, or break up a bit coming
off of idle, about 1/4 throttle, would run fine at the
upper throttle end.

I had the mechanic ride it, and he said it was ok, so I didn't
worry about it, figured that must be the way they run.

Got to fooling around with the spark plug gap one day.

The factory gap on the Bosna plug was .020.

This bike has a CDI ignition, figured it wouldn't hurt to widen
the gap a bit, went to .030.

..............to my surprise, the engine stutter went away, the bike
has a crisper throttle response in all ranges.

Just my 2 cents worth,

Thanks Again,

Jimi
