Here is a picture, about the welding. Also, notice that I don't really have an air filter (there is a rubber boot that protects the front of the carb but I've removed it while I try to solve this power problem).
As you can see, the bolt that holds the clutch (the left circular do-hickey) is welded on. I might be able to free that one, but the right-most circular do-hickey is really welded together.
The gaskets between the carb and the intake, and between the intake and the cylinder are trashed. I'll manufacture a couple of new gaskets, check my sleeve valve, and put the carb on again.
