I'm painting my NC50 with Duplicolor Flecks

Postby sofasurfer » Sat Jul 02, 2011 7:38 pm

I decided to use Duplicolor metal flake. For one thing, metal flake is really hard to find around here. Only choices were Duplicolor and Plasticoat. Neither had more than 2 or 3 colors available near me. Is Plasticoat a good choice (if I had chosen it)? I am really happy with Duplicolor so far. Used RustOleum primer. Sanded with 600. Sprayed Dupli Flecks red. After 15-20 minutes sprayed Dupli Crystal Clear. 3 or 4 coats is really nice. Can get away with no more sanding if I chose. Would like a mirror finish but don't know if I want to take more time or just get it on the road. If I wet sand the clear how long should I wait to the current coats to dry?
Opinions?
